The Man They Call Jayne

So I have decided this is the finished piece... but I'm still unsure about whether I should add a background or not. If I do it'll either be the "Serenity" background like in the reference or a plain background. Hmmm we'll see how that goes. What do you think? Does it need a background or would he blend in too much with the background?

So anywho Jayne is my favourite character in Firefly and I just had to draw him I think I should recite some of his quotes... just cause I can haha:

Jayne: (mock reading Simon's journal) "Dear Diary...today I was pompous and my sister was crazy." (flips page) "Today, we were kidnapped by hill folk never to be seen again. It was the best day ever."

Mal: "Are you offering me a trade?"
Jayne: "A trade!? Hell, it's theft! This is the best damn gun made by man. It has extreme sentimental value. It's miles more worthy than what you got."
Mal: "What I got? She has a name."
Jayne: "So does this!" (caresses the gun lovingly) "I call it Vera."
Mal: "Well, my days of not taking you seriously are certainly coming to a middle."

Mal: "Looks can be deceiving."
Jayne: "Not as deceiving as a lowdown, dirty... deceiver."

EDIT: So this is the final piece. It is probably the laziest background ever... simply cause I was still undecided what I wanted..... anywho. I hope you like it
